very cool, whered you get those rearsets?
Title: Re: She's finished!...With Pictures!
Post by: Ronin on May 02, 2008, 07:38:35 PM
The forks are stock..I just stripped and painted them and when I rebuilt them I used 15W oil with PVC blocks, and top'em off with rubber boots to protect the new seals...Kinda going for a Neo-Cafe look... :icon_mrgreen:

The rear sets are stock also..I painted them and drilled and counter sunk the shin guards, plus polished out the stock bolts.. Oh,I used Busa rear pegs forward and aft..

Thank's man ...yep had to modify but it wasn't a biggy.I just ground down the bottom a little at a time. And shimed both sides with washers. The back are shimed with lock washers..and work with pull pins.

Thank's dude..and yeah it's a Busa. That was no small feat.I had to hand make internal brackets to be able to mount it to the stock forks. And mod the fender itself so I could fit it into the space aloted... :o

If its two wheels I dig it.  Its kinda somewhere between a cafe racer and a rat rod with those red wheels.  Too shiny to be a rat rod and the bars are too high to be a cafe racer.  Get some flipped motocross bars and slap them way lower and it'd improve the looks IMHO.

Great paint job. Is it a from a shake can, spray gun or is it done by a shop?

Looks good. Interesting positioning of the rear turn signals...cleans it up real nice. Def like the red wheels with black body. Great job. You've created a very nice and unique looking bike

Damn!  You did a helluva job there...definitely badass :thumb:
My only nitpicks are the clutch lever and maybe shorten the fork gaiters a bit so they're not bunched up, but that's just me being picky.

Very nice!

I got it off of Ebay it's a universal fairing with two sliding clpis that bolt to the two bolts on the headlight brackets. You will need a Dremel tool or rotory tool,to cut of excess material where the signal lights go and the clutch cable.Plus room for the front master cly.ANd a fiberglass cut off wheel..they are cheap and about one inch round. Here is a link to one like it.It you need better pictures..close ups I can make any angle or part you want :thumb:

Oh,..The bottom chin fairing is a late 80's ninja..all be it highly moded.I spent almost 4 days working just on the chin fairing  :o

Thank's Dude.... well the entire job was done with the econo route plan.I have less than 300.00 in the remake.Attention was given to making stock items look non-stock..like the rear sets. And alot of Ebaying,is that a word?  :icon_mrgreen:Most of the money went to seals, chain, rear spocket, tire and tank being painted. There are great bargins out there! :thumb:
And last but no least was..Everything but the tank was done by me,saving some were in the neighborhood of 1000.00 in labor cost.

Thank's Man..That's the exact look I was going for.Something out of the norm.. :icon_mrgreen: No really..It's a work in progess and clubman bars may be in the offing this winter..cost was a major factor this time round.

I wish I was half as handy.  I don't really have any nitpicks, but I will say I smiled when I saw the classic labels below the indicator lights.  Way to go taking the cost effective route!  Especially the TSC turn signals! =]

Thank's Dude's..it took a while, but was worth every minute.I've been riding alot the last few days and it gets alot of looks.I guess mostly from people wondering what it is...there aren't any decals or engine displacement badges...Badges? We don't need no stink'en badges! :2guns:

Yep that's a stock wheel with a 150/60... :thumb:and I think they had to reorder gloss black last week to restock the shelve.. :icon_mrgreen:Rear hugger, sounds good.

I did everything but the tank..The plastics were the real pain.I finally ended up doing almost everything they tell you not to do on the back of the spray can :icon_mrgreen: I sprayed it about 4inches away and layed it on med thick,I lay down 3 coats and let it dry 1 day between coats and let all the final coat dry for about 2weeks.
I used 1000 git and then 2000 grit wet sand. Then a med cut compound with a sponge. Then topped off with Scratch out by Kit.All was hand rubbed.I'm happy with about 12.00 in paint for the plastics...just alot of elbow grease.
