Title: front end question
Post by: mach1 on May 05, 2008, 09:08:10 PM
If I shorten the spacer tubes in the forks will that lower the front end?

It will reduce the spring preload, which will lower the front end... not the best way though.

Buying a cruiser.
I dunno, the FE isn't adjustable for ride height ... you cant do away with 2-3 inches of travel, you'll start clobbering stuff.
Cool.

OK you mean "an inch" OK well you can shorten the spacer if you dont want to lower the thing in the triples. but be careful, Internals can bottom out too, not just the lower triple hitting the for seal/dust cover.
Cool.

If you are wanting to increase the steering angle, you can raise the rear. It creates a similar result.
Another option is to run a lower profile tire.

rear has a katana shock and is raised a bit but I want the front lower tan the rear. tires are new and dont have money to change them I only need an inch so Ill go with what buddha said and shorten the spacers a lil. I have never has an issue with bottoming out Im not that heavy.
