Title: parting out 06gs500f
Post by: pizza on May 12, 2008, 05:30:26 PM
Hey as most of you know I blew my 06's motor :/ and the warranty is not covering
because they said the oil level wasn't full enough..

So I'm just going to part this bike out and finance a gsxr600, because I really don't wanna search for a motor
any more..

So here is the list of parts I sold - exhaust- sprockets chain - mirrors - k&n

MAKE OFFERS!! STILL HAVE MOST PARTS EXCEPT ONES I LISTED..

Cheers

I don't want to sound harsh, but you're an idiot if you don't swap the engine and sell this thing as a complete bike.

You're going to spend countless hours removing parts and selling them off one by one and you'll probably only get 1/2 the bike sold before you say "f%$k it" and give up.

Find a cheap engine that still runs and flip this thing, you'll thank me later.

I'm getting a 600.. I've been looking for an engine for 2-3 months now. I've tried to just sell the bike with the blown engine and no one wants it.. So I'm parting it out.

He sent me a message on the 22nd that said "shipping today".  All he had to do was respond to the PMs I sent asking if it was shipped and say "hey man, something came up and I wasn't able to ship the package today it will go tomorrow"

That would have been fine, but he is not responding at all to my PM's.  He sent me 8 messages answering my questions on the 21st.  He was communicating very well until I sent him money and then nothing.   :nono:

I sent him a PM yesterday afternoon asking if the package had shipped and for a tracking number.  His last activity was yesterday at 10pm, so I know he got the message.  How hard would it have been to type a reply?

Name:  pizza
Last Active:  May 27, 2008, 10:07:08 PM

I am not trying to be an @$$hole here, I'm just asking for a little common courtesy.  I send you $85 the least you can do is let me know it has been shipped.

Pizza (Ryan), I see someone else has requested tracking numbers from you and not gotten a reply. I find myself in the same boat with you. I asked you last week for the tracking number for the wheels I bought from you. You have not responded yet. I see you were on this message board today. Why are you ignoring me. Please respond with a tracking number today. If the wheels shipped last week I should have seen them by now. Not getting a warm and fuzzy about this transaction.

Received only one of the two wheels yesterday. Rear wheel has been lost by UPS. Was told by Ryan (Pizza) that the shipping charge ($60) was because he didn't have a box and had to pay the UPS shipping center to box them for him. When I received the front wheel I was astounded that it was unboxed and had scratches all over it. When confronted with this he acted surprised that it was shipped that way. I called the UPS shipping center in Phoenix and was told by the woman who handled the wheels that he specifically requested that they not be boxed. Now I have to wait to see if UPS locates the other wheel. Will probably put in a claim on both wheels. Shipping facility has already agreed to send the claim money to me.

Nothing worse than paying for something and a person and they have your $$ but don't pull through with their end of the bargain, heck my $$ didn't bounce nor was it counterfit! :), I have had people stiff me, not send out in the time frame that they said they had, sold me something they don't have in stock, or the item is not what the discribed it to be! Thant's why I mostly use my credit card because it gives me an advantage in times of trouble. I bought a patio door from a place and they told me they had them or could get them for me, and after a month of them playing games I called VISIA and they got me my $$ back. Now if I had paid these SOB's in cash I would have been taking them to small claims court or would have been suck with some crappy doors.  I totally agree with the non -comunication issue!! When I bought my rim/tire off e-bay the person didn't have the common curtisy to reply back to my e-mail to confirm the payment went through. There is no excuse for a person not to return a e-mail, it doesn't cost you a thing to reply, and then to see them reply to the news group and not to you, that's just low class. If you say your going to do somethinng do it , don't chump out! As for paypal you have to wait 10 days from the payment to file a complaint. Enough of my rant, good luck to everyone involved, these situations can suck-- JIM  : :icon_razz:

I sent payment via paypal to pizza last week for the mirrors and part of the cowling, and still no word after emails inquiring what the tracking number is, and if he's ripping me off. this is all bad news. Ryan/Pizza, you could at the very least put up a post reply explaining why there's a delay. we've sent you money and have no word; that is unkind. any advice from others on how to handle this situation? file a claim with paypal? can the gsforum admins help us in locating or warning him?

Title: Re: parting out 06gs500f

One of the problems is that because these transactions were done outside of Ebay, you don't get the same protection from Paypal as you normally would. Paypal says they'll make their best effort to collect, and will take funds from his account to cover the dispute (if they're available). But they don't guarantee you'll get any money back. With Ebay transactions they gaurantee you a percentage of the funds. Which is why I always use my credit card as the Paypal payment source so, if I don't get a satisfactory resolution from Paypal, I file a dispute with my CC company and I let them haggle with Paypal. Most effective is letting him know that you make trips to Phoenix (I know I do) and that you could always drop by to politely ask for your money back.

I has been 9 days since the last contact with him.  Which was a message from him sayin that my parts would ship that day (May 22nd).  I asked him on the 22nd to let me know once the parts were shipped and to provide the UPS tracking number.  I asked him to ship UPS so there would be a tracking number, which he agreed to on the 21st when he sent me 8 messages that night alone answering my questions.

I believe I have given him adequete time to ship my parts and at the very least, respond to my PM's and phone calls!  It doesn't take 9 days for a package to ship from AZ to AL.

Pizza still has not responded to my PM's or phone calls.  He also hasn't been on the site since May 28th so I think I am out of luck.  I have escalated my dispute with paypal to a claim.  If the parts are sent (or show up with no word), or if pizza contacts me and lets me know what is going on I will cancel the claim.  But until I receive parts or am contacted by him the claim process will continue.

Future buyers beware!  :nono:

I have bought two things off this site ,

a set of spacers from Dgyver and A engine Badge from Scottpa

The spacers were here in 4 days , and thats USA to The UK , 3000 miles??  the badge was here in 7-9 days , but that wasnt scotts fault , it was the postal service

Perfect communication , everything smooth , and they have alot of posts on this site , so i was more so inclined to trust , being they have been around ages , know what there talking about etc , Pizza's last post total was 31... mhmm i wouldnt of felt so good about that

Thought id share a example of a great transaction between board members

I've had great transations with other members as well.  pizza made me feel confident that he would ship the parts despite his post count.  I have had many transactions on a subaru forum with low post count members.  I guess some people are honest and others are not.

Update - I received the mirrors from pizza. They were shipped on May 23 and arrived on Monday June 2. I didn't receive another part that I paid for, though - the black, plastic, inner part of the cowling that clips to the headlight portion and bolts to the upper cowling. Cosmiccharlie and others, I feel your pain. I hope we all get our parts. I've sent him numerous emails and still no response. Let this serve as a warning to those interested in purchasing from pizza.

I'm kind of 'scarred' after this last transaction.  I might just buy a new one on eBay.. thanks though.

Just as a good word for average and the site, this type of thing is very rare and I've never seen anybody get shafted like this before on a deal through this site. If you decide to buy average's filter, I'm positive he won't do you wrong.

if you are worried about doing online business, there are 2 simple ways to avoid bs happening, 1 - only use usps money orders. if you f%$k someone when they pay you with a postal money order, over state lines, you can go to jail for a LONG time, its way bad. 2 - only buy from people willing to speak to you on a telephone, because with a shipping address, emails, and a telephone, you can track them down easily - intelius. thats all there is to it.

whats this kids address, someone pm it to me, and his phone number, whatever info you have. i travel around a lot, ive gotten people their shaZam! before. had to do it for quite a few people, not saying i can, or will, maybe i wont do anything. sometimes all people need is a phonecall to realize its not to anyones benefit to do shaZam! like that, sometimes all you gotta do is call these kids parents and tell them. i had some 2 different kids in pa try to bail on sales recently until i called their houses and was like yeah, im gonna go ahead and call in the middle of the night and tell whichever one of your parents answers the phone why the f%$k im calling in the middle of the night, and do so every night at 3 am until i get my shaZam!. sometimes it takes more, whatever. hit me with some info, ill see if i can do anything.

Well, I escalated my PayPal 'dispute' to a 'claim.'  Whatever good that will do me.  $25 is still $25, but like you guys mentioned, karma's a Buddha Loves You.

I sent him $200 and he ships the wheels, but on the less expensive items he screws people. Go figure. I did have to file a claim with UPS because the wheels got scratched up pretty good in shipping due to not being packaged.
