Haven't been here in a few years.. I apologize.. Started off in this forum like 5 years ago when I learned to ride on a 1992 GS500E.. I have since moved on to a Ducati Monster and now a Harley (Yes, the dark side).. I'm from Milwaukee, what can I say.. ANYWAYS, my GS500 has served me well, but I am moving and need to sell her. Its a 1992 with 7500 miles, Srinath's jets, progressive springs, new battery, otherwise pretty much stock. Only damage to the bike is on the side of the engine where previous owners dropped it.. (Not me! Really!) Looking to sell it locally but I really don't know what to ask for the price. I'm guessing in the $800-1000 range? I suspect these may be more in demand these days than when I bought it due to high gas prices but I am not sure.

Not looking to sell here, so please don't take this as a for sale post.. I'm just wondering what the fair value is of these bikes these days..
Over here in california people sell 50cc scooters for that much. I'd say it's worth about 1700-1800 at least. But then again go look on craigslist in your local area and see what people want for them, I'm sure you'd find other gs's or 500cc bikes for sale and just add a little more because your's is a little better than other's bikes you'll see. Nice bike by the way.
id say 12-15 as it looks like its in good shape

Anyways what I did to determine what was a fair price for me to offer. PO was asking 18
Checked the kelly bluebook on it www.kbb.com Retail value was 1650 dealer trade in was 1100. split the difference and adjust up or down for condition and other relevant factors.
Used the same formula to price my Honda Rebel when I sold it.
I'd almost try asking $2000, or at least $1800. Really depends on how fast you want to sell it.
It is prime motorcycle selling season and gas prices are driving people to look for more efficient transportation like crazy. You bike looks really clean and has pretty low miles. I can't even see the damage, and most every GS has at least tipped over.
For reference, I bought my 98 w/ 6900 miles in Milwaukee area 4 years ago for $1900; the guy was asking $22 or 2300.
Oh, and I'll give you 5 bucks and a case of beer for it ;)
edit: don't forget your Suzuki 1/4 fairing is $$$ too, when figuring you selling price. It's worth maybe $100 sold separately
