and what better bike to do it with then someone elses wrecked GS500
so we have pretty much confirmed the purchase of an 01 GS500 for about 150$. The bad? the engine is seized for some reason. No biggie as we have settled on this being the race bike for our newborn (due Nov 10th) so it will be a few years before its going to be ridden by its projected user.

Right now we are looking for a motor and bodywork and have already purchased some billet looking rearsets :) (25$ on ebay)

WTF ? THIS is how you announce ? A race bike and a side note about the new youngin ?

wife/Lan/importbabe is not, mike/husband/guy typing building bike is :)... I have to change the screen name since she is no longer interested in motorcycles.

they are GSXR1100 rearsets. The previous owner happened to be a machinist and he made them.

So they're custom made for a gsxr1100? How easy is it to make them fit on the gs?

Make plates or redrill the mounting holes.

I just went through this myself. Still got a fuel flow bug to sort, and some crash damage to 'buff out', but other than that I'd be happy to chat/help as I can!
