Title: WTB: Black fuel tank
Post by: Topnikko on May 19, 2008, 09:31:54 AM
Looking to replace the tank on my '93. If you have a leak-free tank, in excellent cosmetic condition please let me know. Thanks!

Black ... well, I can coat the inside, and powdercoat the outside of your tank for ~125 or less.
Cool.

Any year tank will work just in case you didn't know.01+ have a bigger roughly 5 gallon tank.

This includes bodywork? Existing tank has a dent where the seat meets the tank, and where the sidepanels attach to the tank, on both sides, the gas tank is splayed out. It no longer follows the lines of the frame. Can you fix all of this?

Plastics match the new model tank.Seat is ok but cutting it down at the tank makes it look better.Newer plastics are not a direct bolt on to older bikes. Here is a pic of an 04 tank on my 89.

This is what my bike looked like at the begining of last summer. It has an 04 tank on a 89GS.My bike looks a little different now.Hope to finish it this week.

That looks great but I would prefer to find a tank that lines up with the rest of the bodywork. I'll buy any 89-01 tank as long as it's straight and rust free. It would be nice to find a black one though so I don't have to have it painted.
