hello all,

my stator(left side case) cover has a crack in it and i am unable to find a cheap replacement.

however will an 83 GS 450 cover fit?

it looks exactly the same from the outside but is the inside (where the stator goes) the same?

It looks nothing like the GS500 stator cover :dunno_white:

Yes it will fit. They are the same part. The GS 450 was not painted. I have GS450 covers on both sides my 569 motor.

If Dgyver says it will fit, then it will fit. :)

I was cross referencing some part numbers, but there were like three or four different gs450's and I'm not sure which one the auction is for.

But D put some on his motor, so they'll work on yours. :thumb:

The cover on the left is a GS450 and the right one is from a 05 GS500. The only difference are the two notches on the GS450 cover. These are to assist with prying the cover off.

Also, the GS450 cases, crank, stator, magnet are the same... Pretty much the whole bottom end, which I have. I think the tranny shifts opposite though.
The top end is not the same... cylinder, pistons, head, cams.

Does Mak even have a GS? :dunno_white:

I would not risk using it. Depending on where the crack it, it could cause the stator to hit the magnet causing much more damage than the replacement cost of the cover.

I hit a few pics on google and compared...what came up was obviously different. My mistake.

And I have a 550.
