Well i picked up a beat up 1991 gs500e about a month ago. It was in pretty rough shape. The frame had a nice "patina" to it, carbs were ridiculously dirty and jetted improperly, forks were leaking, front brake was seized, all in all she looked like hell. But with the help of the search feature on the site and evenings of work i ended up with a bike that was a lot more fun then i thought it would be. Im used to riding larger sport-touring bikes, ive owned an Aprilia Falco, a ST4 and a couple of others. But aside for the underwhelming suspension the GS still gave me a grin riding around town. Ive decided to use it as a commuter for the time being, but i just wanted to extend my thanks to the GS community here for helping me get this little flat black monster back on the road.
Eric
Ohh and hey the bike also was a test mule for a pin striping endeavor i had. Let me know what you think.

Nice job
Welcome :)
Nice Solara, and the pinstriping looks good too.
I'm looking at your front tire on the gs, is the tire installed according to the direction on the sidewall ?
Enjoy the cheap thrills of the gs, and the commute :)
Yep, according to the directional indicator is going the right way. But honestly i think im in the market for some new rubber. The tires on there are getting a little long in tooth and my trust in them isnt exactly high.
