Can someone please tell me if there are any differences, other than cosmetic, between the E and F series wheels? Will a wheel off a 2007 bike mount right up and take the same tires as a 1993?
the wheel will fit ,
the wheels havent except in colour

89-current GS500 wheels are all compatible.
88-97 Katana 600/750 are the same as well, except color. They do not have the left side hub cover on the front wheel though.
Isn't there another direct swap wheel set that is identical save for 'flat' spokes rather than GS500 style 'twisted' units?

The kat wheels have straight spokes as opposed to the gs's swept spoke design.
People have used bandit rear wheels, I believe those have the swept spoke as well.
I think a conventional laced rim would be really cool on a GS500E.
I have it on good authority that the 01+ wheels dont have drilled and tapped rotor holes on the left. They have like casting divots ... but not drilled and tapped. Its not important to use on a GS, but kat FE conversions ... the older wheel is needed.
Cool.
Buddha.
As stated 89+ front and rear same for all years of GS.Also 89-97 Katana600/750 wheels are the same.Except the front wheel is missing the left hub cover.Katana brake disc are smaller than GS disc. This comes up frequently.
98+ Katana 3.5 inch front wheel is a direct swap.It has straight spokes.
98+ Katana 4.5 inch rear wheel is an easy swap.It has straight spokes. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=25426.msg388101
Bandit 600 4.5 inch rear wheel has swept spoke.Be careful with this swap.It bit me in the a$$.Here's the linky. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=27757.0
