Ok just got back from my trip on sat to pick up a new member of the family. Got off of work at 4:00 am on sat after working from 3:15 pm on friday. Drove home from orlando. Gather the fiance and one of her nephews and (after packing more stuff into the truck then Lewis and Clark would have taken on their entire trip through the Louisiana purchase) left around 8 am. Drove two hours across the state of florida to homosassa . There i picked up my new family member who is going to become an organ donor.. For $450 i picked up a 91 gs 500. The front forks are bent in and the stator cover is cracked.

But the engine runs. Soo hopefully tomorrow i will be transfering it over to the other bike. The Red bike needs work but is in over all good condition... the only down fall i have with it is that It doesnt have a title. I ran the vin at the police station and it came back clean. But the kid i bought it from doesnt have a title for it because the guy before him crashed it and left it at his house for the last 2 years. he tried contacting him with no luck...(http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa247/mrnathan6695/IMG_1009.jpg)

So after i do the moter swap im going to try to obtain a title for it. As far as that goes i have a few options.
1. Try to track the guy down myself and get him to apply for a lost title... then mail it to me. ( by telling him i only have the fram :icon_twisted: just in case he wants it back.)
2. try to apply for a rebuilt title. (not sure whats needed for that in fl)
3. just part it out and scrap what nobody else wants.
Oh well Spent all sat at the beaches on the gulf.. No way i was driving back...
Sunday got up early and headed out to the marina.. We had a manatee cruise scheduled. They took us out and we ended up snorkling with a large group for about 2 hours...That was fun. Fiance had a good time. Water was a little murky so sometimes you didnt see them untill they bumped into you. (The only thing i can compare that to is runnind straight into a rough wall that is made of elephant skin)
We then hit up the homosassa spring wildlife refuge park.. that was also fun. We are probably going to go back in the winter when the water is clearer and there are tons more manatees in the springs.

Oh before i forget I have to give a shout out to Tamparacing.com . .... i searched high and low for an engine this site, e-bay, and craigslist.
This site and craigslist had none ebay had a few but they were all over $550 plus shipping. On a whim i checked tamparacing.com because once and awhile there is something of relevance on their and this time was one of them..
congrats :)
i'm wondering, is it typical to find a busted bike with the forks bent FORWARDS ?
those manatees are scary freaking huge. we were in the gulf with my son, punching waves when one pushed against my wife. we never saw it because of the angle of the sun. i -almost- shaZam! my pants. my son touched it, completely unafraid.
hey nate, i think the rear disc needs attention. the rest is fine, just ride it ;)
Good find :thumb: Sounds like a good weekend :thumb:
i think he laid it down into a fence.. At least thats what the kid said. Telling from the scapes and like you said the forks bent out not in( first time ive seen anything like this also) i believe hes telling the truth. As far as riding no im swaping the engine over. spent to much time modifying my 1st gs to just restore and ride this one.
And if i cant find or get a title for this bike then at least people on this website will benefit from it..
homosassa , heh was there 6 months ago :thumb:
