Check this out: http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/Rejetting (http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/Rejetting)
Look at the bottom of the page for the table and find your bike :thumb:
This one can be good to determine if you are rich or lean: http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/Rejetting-LeanOrRich? (http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/Rejetting-LeanOrRich?)
Don't miss the link at the bottom that says "look at your spark plugs"
The wiki has a good deal of info on the bike check that one for stuff too the home page is http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/ (http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/)
Good luck with the rejet
I'm running 40-142.5-1 washer-2.5 turns on the mix screws.
i had looked at that but i dont want any of those slip-ons but i dont know what kind i want yet. but can i use 150 main, 2 washers and 3 turns or is that to much?
K&N and any slip on is 40/150/1 washer/3 turns - BTW that is only a starting point, minor adjustments from there on. Set floats right and make sure everythign is clean and rip free ...
Cool.

ok kool thanks
I sell whole jet packs ($22 shipped) as well as O ring packs - $10 for a pack of 4 pairs most common and most important replacements of them.
Random O rings available on request too.
I also jet carbs. $45 if you send me your carbs. I take pics, explain stuff and point out other issues on your bike, like your tank has rust, or your air filter is messed up or your float gasket is leaking etc etc ... BTW float gasket leaks are very very very uncommon (it was just an example). Yea good advice, not just the sarcastic crap I hand out here to the rest of the people.
