The story goes like this:
I bought the bike for very cheap. It had been in a wreck and I presumed it had a salvage title( all damage was cosmetic). There was no title so I did a bond and got it tagged. I replaced the right side plastics, handle bars, and windscreen (over $500). I left the small stuff that I didn't care about: dinged tank, rashed muffler, and various bits of rash on the front cowl and what not. I year later the state title agency sends me a letter telling me that I cannot renew the tags because the bike has a 'parts only title' in Michigan. That means the title cannot be restored, salvaged, or rebuilt in any way. So, I'm stuck with a really well running batch of parts.
The bike has only 5500 miles on it and runs like a champ (3k of those were by me in the last year).
I want to be clear...This bike is not and cannot be street legal. At least not in Georgia. I'm asking $1800 or best offer.
I really don't want to part this bike out, I have little enough time as it is, but I will if I have to.
So, if any of you want to get together and split the cost, its a great way to get a lot of parts for a lot less. If you race one of these then you can have an entire replacement stock of parts for a fraction of the price!
Of course, if anybody has a clear titled frame from an 04-07, I might be able to take it off your hands and start from scratch!
