Now that I am old (37 ;)), I have to start thinking about my retirement years. I had always assumed that I would eventually get a FJR to cruise the surrounding states on. After sitting on the Triumph ST a bunch of times (every time I go to my Suzuki/Triumph dealer), I think I like the ST better!
Well im ment to be getting one , in 1 week , but theres been a few arguements, ... so who knows

I can clearly see from your picture that you aren't a big fat loser, like your title implies. ;)
Now that I've chloroxed the carport, my objective tomorrow is to ride my motorbike. I have reached a milestone. There will be a party. I bought/ordered my GS500EY new in the crate in April of 2000. I now have 2001 miles on it. I keep it stored in the shed and covered. I know that I don't have many miles on it BUT.................as with my boats...........in the past and present............
it gets me where I want to go but most importantly....................it gets me BACK...............(I can remember runnin' my old Bayliner at 5 mph for about 15 miles on the waterway with a stripped prop). Gonna head down that ole River Road toward New Orleans early and hope there ain't too much traffic...........(meaning 2 cars per half hour)
Anyone in the area is welcome and I shall cook for you.

What ya getting in NOLA?
Whatcha cooking.
I'd come if I could but this summer it's Dallas for vacation the boy wants to go to Six Flags and the Ft. Worth Zoo. They have a very nice zoo.
Would you mind doing me a favor; if your ever headed up my way would you mind picking me up a gallon of Bavarian Black Forest Ale at the Crescent City Brew hoouse on Decauter and bringing it with you? I'd sure aprreciate it.
Hopefully this fall we will be going tro NOLA again for our anniversary, I got very lucky and found a wife who appreciates that city as much as I do.
Yama you don't look like a dork, and certainly not a loser :cookoo:
oh hte loser part is my second custom title. ( i stole johns avatar) so he gave me an avatar which looked like a cross between pee wee herman and someone else. and it couldnt be removed. i had to beg him to allow me to change it. btw my first custom title was "piss ant"

Fenderectomy is looking like first thing
You mean getting that little old lady's fender off your bike? :icon_mrgreen: Just kidding! I read your other post. Glad you came through your accident okay. Hope all works out and you're soon back on two wheels and feeling great!
Yama, the "boss man" actually giggled and he got to retire early (as I would like to--we'll see--gotta get house paid off and sonny boy at least on his way at least 2 years into college--it's funny, my children speak as if with a Northern accent--my wife and esp. me have a VERY HEAVY distinct Southern drawl--their friends when over at the house would say to them.......gee.....I love YOU and Dad sound so strange--hahahhhaahaa). Yama.........I want you to write me about your health. How are you? How are you doing? Tell me the truth.
Betty Python........I ain't really gettin' anything in N.O.. I'm just riding "towards" there on on River Road. There are old antebellum homes, the industrial corridor (plants) and little traffic. It is a very peaceful ride. Slow winding roads and a light breeze coming off the Mississippi River. Some straightaways where one can "wring it out". Believe it or not, I enjoy peace and quiet. It's the same ride I used to do on my Yamaha 650 Special. That is another story. I sold it (it rested in the shed too.....a lot...). I bought it in the crate for a steal whilst looking at a HD Sportster back in '83. The owner of the business said he'd "have it ready", filled with oil and gas for 1800 dollars. I said "do it and I'll take it". I sold it with like 2750 miles on it.
My GS500 is another story. I've had many motorbikes throughout my life.
In fact until I was 18, they were my only transportation (had motorbikes since I was 10). I guess that is the reason I don't ride very much now. Anyway, I actually ordered my GS500 sight unseen. The shop didn't "have any" and they needed one for display anyway. I had read hundreds of reports on it and I was especially impressed with it's reliability. When it came in, the owner called me and I went in to look at it......it was there in the crate with MADE IN JAPAN stamped in huge letters on the shipping crate. He asked if I didn't want something more powerful and would my wife be riding with me. I said she no longer wants to ride. Put that sonofabitchtogether. Call me when it's ready. Wifee tells me I will NOT be selling this one. One time I tried. She says, you'll just buy another one and "we ain't doin' that shaZam!" again. hahahahaha.
Betty.......is this ale you want in a glass container? If you want, perhaps the next time we go to N.O., I can pick you up one.
We were there two weeks ago at the New Orleans Museum of Art. They had the Rodrique Exhibit. Wifee is a Rodrique collector.
I don't know "the government" rules on shipping glass containers of alcohol..........but I'll try. P.M. me with the details and I shall try to fulfill your desire.
afaik shipping alcohol is disallowed i know most states dont allow it to be purchased online so this may apply " officially", as far as my health goes, still up in the air. biut of a scare at a a charity bike ride. i was volunteering at, they asked if anyone wanted to help their " guest rider" warm up ( on a track, im like sure. and borrowed a trek 1200. i GOT WTF PWNED their guest rider was an olympic athlete   spent a few minutes coughing up blood. but it stopped a lil while later. so all is good. our staff doc had no concerns. prolly jus me being so far out of shape, and going balls out . anyhoo i still have to get in the public healthcare system, which takes time, before i can find answers to my previous issue. ( im working on that btw)
Things to do: Call DA monday morning and have speeding ticket reduced to 14 over to keep my driving record clean. This island is having the worst outburst of crime it's seen in over a decade and 3 f%$king cops were necessary to stop a f%$king bike doing 15 over. The real kicker is that I was going the same speed as all the rest of the traffic, I have no problem with profiling when it does done correctly and with public safety in mind. Obviously profiling hispanics at this point is a wise allocation of time ( 6 murders all related arrests have been hispanic individuals) I just wanna know where the roving gangs of Ducati riders raising hell are?
BUT if all were doing the same speed, they cant pull over all at the same time, so they chose you. who knows why? ive had that shaZam! happen to me before. i said, Sir, i was keeping with traffic. he said, yeah they were speeding, so were you, i got you first. ( only got a warning tho  )
Cops have a nasty tendency of being douchebags with power complexs. It's not a big deal, I just smiled and took the ticket. I'll call the DA monday morning and worst case have the ticket dropped to 14 over, pay the fine and go on with life.
i wonder if traffic shool could be an option?, or plead to a mechanical issue or something?
as unrealistic as this may be but i would love to go into space or on a one way voyage either as part of a human adventure or with aliens. yes i know its silly but if it were possible that is what i would do. even if it meant that i would die. to see the earth from space, to travel through space or visit other planets just for the knowledge it my ultimate dream. even if it meant plucking me off the planet or covertly leaving with no on knowing what had happened. boy this is waaay off but when i first saw the title of this post that is exactly what i was thinking before i opened the tread and read it.
I'd like to meet an alien too , and not those peeping ones :icon_mrgreen:

I said that to a cop .. you know what he told me...."The fish that is caught, is the fish that if fried" How do you argue with that...
I'da been a smartass and told him that next time I would work a little harder at getting free. Cop cars are not a hard vehicle to out-maneuver, and I was less than a mile from home. Home being a private gated community that the local boys aren't allowed to pursue into.
okay and why are they NOT allowed to persue into, if youre breaking the law? or evading as teh case would have been?
Not so much a can't as a don't. The community has it's own deputized security personnel and out of respect the county boys don't come into the plantations unless requested.
so the security guards have police powers ( aka post certified?)
yup, but they don't write traffic citations to residents unless they're just being outrageous. Their pay is community reviewed every 6 months :icon_twisted:
what i mean is, what department do they work for. cause usually rentacops have no power whatsoever and police dont work for private companies ( officially)
