Title: Buell lightning exhaust

My nsighbor just purchased a race kit for the Buell XB9 2003 it also had a new exhaust and said to have at the old one

any one  ever mounted one of these things under the bike?

Lots of fabrication on that job, have to loose the center stand. Good luck and let us know if you pull it off  :thumb:

chopping and welding not a probelm

but will the exhaust mess up the engine?

and yeah, figured that about the center stand but the bolt holes i figure might be good if i can weld a flang on to the exhaust for mounting

It seems like you would lose some ground clearance in the center for bumps and stuff.  It seems like it would be a lot of work/headache getting the headers to match up :)

It is my opinion, based on absolutely nothing, that the underneath exhaust is the reason the Buells only get about 3k miles (if they're lucky) from rear tires.
