Well, I got my progressives installed last night and I am totally happy with the modification. Installation was dirty and took about 1 hour. I did it the lazy way.
I jacked the bike up in the middle to get the front tire off the ground.
I then removed both of the old springs and spacers.
Next, I sucked the old oil out and then compressed the springs completely and put a piece of 4x4 wood underneath the front tire to keep the forks compressed while I poured and measured the new fork oil.
I then removed the 4x4, installed the new springs, washers, and spacers and screwed back on the fork caps.
I rode 14 miles to work this morning and it was like a different bike. Ride height was much higher and felt a lot better. My sag went from 2-3" (I'm 200 lbs) to about 0.5-1". No more serious diving on braking. The bikes seems to shift better because it is no longer diving when I come off the throttle. Throttle control is much better because the bike isn't constantly changing position on braking, acceleration, and over bumps. Overall, it just feels more planted, more sturdy. I highly recommend these springs.
Best upgrade you can do to these bikes. :thumb:
I just took my bike out for the first time with my new springs, such a huge improvement.

I got an older one of this bike, and the first suspension is not adjustable. I would like to change the two top bolts to adjustable. Will the new bolts match the old ones, and I could change is without any problems?

What year is your bike? The two threaded fork caps should be the same from 1989 to 2008. None of them are adjustable. One solution might be to make your own that are adjustable, or you could simply add custom length spacers to your forks to preload them.

I've got a 1992 year bike. From about 93 to 95 the front suspension was adjustable. I would like to change my bolts to that. I asked it if someone know that it would fit.

If your forks are adjustable then they came from another bike or it's a euro bike.US and Canadian bikes do not have adjustable forks.We need a pic to make sure we are speaking of the same thing.
Must be a UK bike. Haynes manual page 5.5, paragraph 6, step 3 states the following:
3 Slacken, but do not remove, the fork clamp
bolts in the top yoke (see Illustration). If the
forks are to be disassembled, or if the fork oil is
being changed, it Is advisable to slacken the
fork top bolts at this stage. On UK K, L and M
models and all US models, first remove the top
bolt cap, and on all other UK models set the
pre-load adjuster to Its minimum setting (see
Section 12). On US models with one-piece
handlebars, displace the handlebars if required
for improved access to the top bolts (see
SectIon 5).
i had a set on my 1996 , then they changed it in 2001+ and stopped using clipons , and started used bars on the tripple, for euro and uk bikes
