Title: GS500FK7 Cold Blooded Cure
Post by: Suzuki Stevo on May 31, 2008, 02:47:33 PM
Hi I am new here, I have been riding Suzuki's since '79, when I owned a GS750L
Anywho...I recently bought an '07 GS500F and I LOVE IT!!! Only problem I found with it is...that in the stock configuration it is jetted a little lean on the bottom...

Cold Blooded
Slow Response when rolling on from idle (even when warm)
Herky Jerky if you let the RPM's get below 3500 RPM with a load

I balanced the carbs and blew them out with compressed air, but it still seemed lean to me?
So I ordered 2 #20 pilot jets from http://jetsrus.com/ (http://jetsrus.com/) removed the #17.5 pilots and swapped them out with the #20's, IMHO this is the way the bike should  have run right out of the box, I am using the stock muffler and air cleaner with this mod and I am very happy with the results  :thumb:

People run 22.5's dont they ?
But anyway stock bikes need +1's all the way around, mains, needle, air screws, pilots. Just the general consensus around here.
Cool.
