Title: GS issues
Post by: jpvc49 on June 02, 2008, 01:06:47 PM
What's up GS owners? My name is Jason and am new to this site. I have a 2006 GS500F. I got it brand new May 2007. I  have over 12,500 miles on it. The one year warranty just expired last month and then last week it died on me. About a week and a half I was caught in a rare storm and got drenched. The next few days it still was raining and did not ride. I finally go to ride it to work about a week later and I didn't even make it to the next exit on the freeway before it broke down. As I was riding at about 75mph, my engine just shut off as if I hit the kill switch. I tried starting it again with the push button while I was coasting on the freeway and nothing happened. At that time I smelled something being cooked, like a burnt smell. I tried again to start it and nothing happened. When I turn the key to on, all the lights come on as normal and I try to start it and then I get a clicking noise as long as the start button is pushed but nothing else happens. That's where I'm at right now. I haven't had time to look into it yet but wanted to possibly get some ideas.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thats the battery , the clicking noise it it trying to turn the starter but it doesnt have enough power , check for loose connections also , and the Ground wire, might explain why it just died , but yea , charge ur battery or buy a new one
