Title: Problem I am unsure of. GS 500F 2006
Post by: hawiianjoe10 on June 02, 2008, 06:10:38 PM
I have alittle issue.  I have read some of the post but still unsure on how to go about this... Or to know where else to start... Well it started Saturday a friend and I went riding and we are stopped at a bridge that was letting a boat through.  Well anyway I turned my bike off and when the boat passed I turned the key back on and there was no power.  However we thought it might have been the ignition but it wasn't cause now its working. Well we pushed it to the side and I pushed started it and it cranked up for alittle while and then went dead.  Well I thought it might have died because of no oil but checked the oil and it was low but not completely empty.  Well this is the problem we got it back to the house and after trying to turn the key back on it just started clicking.  Like the clicking was coming from solenoid.  Its just a load repeatitive clicking. and it wont try and turn over. I can push start it and it will stay running but I don't want to have to push start it all the time.  Anyone have a general idea on what I should check besides the battery.  Could the starter be messing up.  Or say the starter relay? Or whatelse should I look for? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Just a suggestion,

work back from battery all connections and check for corrosion, loose wires, loose fittings, check your earth to frame (last one is a guess as it worked on my KLR)
