Title: Idle on a GS500f 2004
Post by: skinnypac on June 03, 2008, 10:46:20 AM
I have recently purchased a 2004 GS500f. I have noticed that it seems to idle high at times. Is this a common problem that has a common solution?

The "hanging idle" issue is common enough to get its own sticky thread (a search will also turn up details and photos on where the idle adjustment screw is located etc):

When it says to adjust the idle with the bike warm, that means let it idle for several minutes and then take it for a 10 minute ride or so. If you encounter the high idle at any point during warm up, pull over and do the adjustment then.

Good luck! :)  Feel free to post up if you have more questions or need clarifications. And let us know how it turns out.
