sweet!!, now all I have to do is figure out how to get my crap to the campsite.  I should be there sometime between 1 and 2 on Friday, depending on when I get up and if I get miss-placed on the way, I am shooting for 1pm though.

one more quick question, i am unsure as to how i am going to tie everything (tent, sleepinp bag, and bookbag) to the back of my bike.  Is the trick to use a crap ton on bungees or put my bike in my truck and drive, but then i feel like a puss

PS: i've never tied more than a bookbag for long journeys

can always borrow one of those hiking style backpacks. ghey as hell? yes. but it will get the job done. plus it will have plenty of strappage as to not be a danger to anyone

Yeah that is what I am worried about, shiftage that causes bungee failure .  I think for the purpose of my wife's sanity and level of easyness I am going to truck to the gap and unload.  Getting a hand unloading shouldn't be to hard, hopefully.

Yama...sorry I didn't see you this weekend.  I didn't get any of these messages 'cause I was already down there by 6/5, and I had no internet.  I had a fantastic time, and the riding was superb. The weather was pretty hot on Saturday, and there were some brief periods of rain, but otherwise it was a good time.  I got to the gap on Friday about the same time as Nate (approx. 12:30 PM).  Here I am rollin' in on the dragon on Friday...loaded down with camping gear and all...

We went to hit the dragon after I dropped all my stuff off, but that was cut short when Nate went down.  We got his bike roadworthy and headed off to Robbinsville to eat some tasty BBQ at Sweetwater Barbeque with the gsresources group.  Later, Nate and I ran the gap from deals gap resort up to the overlook and back in the dark.  Now THAT was an adreneline rush.  People think the gap is a challenge in the daylight.  Try it when you can't see.   :thumb:

Saturday we all met in Robbinsville at 8:00 AM and headed off down 129.  We went all the way in to Georgia, hit a road called wolf pen gap, and stopped for lunch at "two wheels only"  From there we took 60 up to 68 back to Tellico Plains, Tennessee and across the Cherohala.  We then took a little detour on Joyce Kilmer road, that turned into a crappy a$$ beating of a washboard road.  Nothing like a tight switchback when your front wheel is skipping all over the place.  Once we got back to 129, we headed back to the resort, and Nate packed up to see his father.  I rode out to Robbinsville once again, and ate dinner with the gsresources guys at the two wheel inn.  Back to the resort at about 11:30, and hit the sack.

Sunday I rose early and packed up.  I felt like $h!t for some reason.  I hit the dragon at about 7:30 AM to ride back to Gatlinburg.  I ended up with a Harley on my butt all the way through.  I was taking it easy and not breaking 40 mph since I was feeling bad, I would pull away from him in the corners, but he would glue himself to my tail every time the road straightened out.  We got to the overlook and pulled over, and he said he couldn't believe how far I was leaning my bike, and he was dragging hard parts in every corner trying to keep up.   :thumb:

The rest of the ride was beautiful, but uneventful, back to Gatlinburg.  I'll link up some pics and vids if I get them uploaded.

I wish more of you could have been there!   Maybe next year.

it was fun lol, i found a gs750 i believe at that restaurant down on the tn side below the gap me and its rider shot the breeze for a fair bit. before i returned home

(http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2/yamahonkawazuki/pandyspr0n.jpg)  yeah i had to shorten my ride, cause a rider in a yam ( a streetfightered r1 i think ditched it above the game, i helped him, get it running again, and reattach his shifter so he could get into robbinsville to ahve it welded, i also rode along  briefly with a guy on a 1940 HD flathead ( WITH a jockeyshift) :o that bike looked awesome, showin its age, BUT it handled the dragon quite well
