Just took my bike out for a first ride, in the parking lot mind you. Not too bad, had a good time, got it up to around 40 . I did manage to drop it, I was coming in for a stop, and my wife had her dog, and I thought the dog had gotten off the leash. I hit the brakes and ended up getting off balance. Nothing major to the bike, a few scratches, but thats to be expected with a new rider.
I do have a questions. When I first started riding it was idling at around 1000-2000 rpms, after riding for about 45 mins, when I would shift into neutral and sit there it was idling at around 3000-3500, is there a reason, or a way to set the idle lower?
Thanks,
Breaker
If you bought the bike used it's likely that someone had the idle set too high. You're supposed to set it after the motor has warmed up, usually after a short ride. So you'll want to adjust it, there is a big brass knob that hangs down from the carbs, you just spin that to lower your idle. Make sure you do it after you have warmed the bike up. I'll look for a picture, but you should be able to find it.
My bike actually has a white plastic knob to adjust the idle. I think the actual bar it is attached to is brass though. It's best to reach the knob from the right side of the bike.

Did you adjust the choke?
I did adjust the choke, and it runs great now.
Thanks
