Title: For Sale -- GS500F Protective Tank Skin (Tankslapper brand)
Post by: beRto on June 03, 2008, 09:21:44 PM
Hi Everyone,

For sale is a brand new (still in sealed package) Tankslapper brand tank protector. This is a completely removable film that protects the finish on the gas tank. The film is removable because it is held on by static attraction, no adhesives are used. The film is nearly invisible.

For sale is the three piece kit customized to fit a GS500F:

I bought this kit mistakenly thinking it would provide grip for my legs. I found out later that the primary function is actually to protect the tank finish. My bike is too old to care about finish (1995), but I know some of you have newer bikes that are worth protecting! I'm going to install some solid black grip pads instead.

Complete details are available at: www.thetankslapper.biz

Asking $10 + shipping. Please PM if interested.

I am looking at the grips from TechSpec:

They don't make a custom set for the GS500, so I will buy the grips for the SV650 and make them work!

Thanks berto. That stuff's still pretty expensive.

If you keep an eye out at http://forum.svrider.com/, they sometimes have group purchases. I bought a set through them at about 30% off the list price.

Now I'm just waiting for them to arrive so I can see if they fit without modification. I'll post a thread with the results.
