...? Also, will any other years fit?
I think Ben has a newer fuel tank on his '89. Not sure of the exact years.
They all fit each other, just what else you have to mangle to get them to match ...
Cool.
Buddha.

Yep.I have an 04 tank on a 89.I have pics if you'd like to see them.Give me a week and I'll have a seat that matches the tank lines.I've gotta find staples that fit my old staple gun. It's a Craftsman from the 60's.
I'd like to see some pics of that...the bike not the staple gun. :thumb:

You'd be let down.I don't have pics of the staple gun.
These are pics of how my bike used to look like.It still looks close to this.Color hasn't changed.Just a few tweaks here and there.I'm going to be modifying the seat to match the tank plus some other mods to the seat.

How well does the tank fit? What all did you have to modify to make it work?

It is a direct swap.I did add 1/4 inch spacers made of 1/2 inch pvc between the tank and rubber cushions on the bracket. The PO dropped it and tweaked the bracket. This is just something I done. It's not a requirement for the tank to fit.
Any reason imparticular for adding the spacers?

The PO dropped it and the bracket bent a little.I just used 1 of those $3.99 Harbor Freight pipe cutters.I bought it to replace some bad pvc under my kitchen sink so it paid for itself before I got the bike.
