Title: GS500 Engine rebuild kit/gasket set???
Post by: Jackstand Johnny on June 07, 2008, 01:23:51 PM
I'm buying my first GS next week(WOOHOO!) and I'm going to need at least a complete gasket set for the engine. Is this a dealership only kind of item? Also, is it less of a headache just to buy a used engine off the forum? The bike is an 89 and it's higher mileage(48,xxx or so).  :dunno_white:

I have dealt with this seller and never been let down.

There are no engines floating around right now. What is wrong with your engine?48,000 is not a lot of miles for the GS. GS jack has doubled that on a few of his bikes but his maintainence plan is 2nd to none.Post your location, someone maybe in your area and help you out with it.

I'm not aware of anything being wrong with the bike other than it leaking oil but then again, I haven't gone to Delaware to pick it up yet. I live in Williamsburg, Va. I just want to be prepared ahead of time.
