Title: front sproket area cleaner?
Post by: brandiwine on August 28, 2003, 03:32:02 PM
would anybody advise against using WD-40 to get all the grease and gunk out of that area.  i'm wanting to throughly clean in there because since i replaced my clutch cable, the lever still doesn't seem easier to engage.  there is still some build up left by the clutch mechanism by the sproket and i'm thinking this might be the culprit.
any ideas or advice?

WD-40 should work.  I used Simple Green.  I have found that Greased Lightning brand "Orange Blast" degreaser is simply awesome.  $2.88 at Wally World for a 32oz. bottle.
