Title: Suzuki Corporate
Post by: jpvc49 on June 10, 2008, 03:03:25 PM
Short story: My bike engine seized a week after the warranty expired. The dealership where I got it doesn't want to even look at without a few hundred bucks. I can't seem to find the number for Suzuki corporate office or customer care. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter or the number? Thanks

man, if you're certain about the warrantee date, that's it. Sorry. :( There is no legal reason for suzuki to extend the warrantee :(

Maybe they'll give you a break on a new motor, and hope you'll turn around and trade that bike for a spankin new gsx-r thou ?

Just a thought. You could *cough* mention how much you like their products. You know, when there's oil in it ;)

It has plenty of oil. Yeah, I know that legally there is nothing binding them to fix it, but it just sucks that the very next week it broke down.

That sucks man.

I understand what you're thinking in getting in touch with the company, but to be honest, I don't know anyone who managed to get an extension on their warranty.

How many miles were on it btw?

How do they know it happened 1 week after your warranty expired....unless you TOLD THEM. Just tell them it happened within warrantee time and you were too busy to get to the dealership

It has just 13k mi. I primarily use it as a commuter. I could tell them that but I can't find a number to save my life.

engines with the right level of oil, right type and changed regularly do not seize.  engine seizure is usually a maintenance problem not a manufacturing one.  so even if it was within the warranty time line i doubt if it would be covered.
