Title: Thanks GSTwins!
Post by: Prafeston on June 10, 2008, 05:15:17 PM
Thank you everyone that's a part of this board. You helped me find my first bike and helped with other issues with that first bike. You also lead me to the SV650. All the talk of that bike made me check the thing out and I've now upgraded to a '99 SV650. I will most likely be spending more time on the svrider forum now so later folks. Maybe I'll see some of you SVers on the other forum. Peace! My svrider name is psychoSV if you want to say hi. I'll leave you all with some pictures of my new bike. Picked it up for 1900 bucks. Not a bad deal considering I payed 1500 for my '90 GS500.

Damn, that's a good price. I love that dual exhaust, I thought it was a 1000 at first. Nice bike.  :thumb:

Yeah I've heard alot about the fuel injected bikes...but I barely even need to use the choke on this thing...if I'm riding it daily it doesn't even need to be choked to start...I just do it to get the motor warm. Yeah the guy I bought it from was moving and couldn't get it to idle properly. It was idling at 2k and when you adjusted the idle needle at all it was just drop down and spudder out. I had a friend take a look at a few things and found out there was a piece of dirt or something clogging something up in the carbs. Put everything back on and it runs like a charm! Only had 7734 miles when I bought it. I'm at almost 8k now and it's been just over a weeks since I've had it. Sounds real nice too!

Those look like woodcraft rearsets, along with that custom high mount dual exhaust system, after market mirrors, and fender eliminator kit I'd say you got yourself a hell of deal.

Those are woodcraft rearsets...haha. And the fender eliminator came with the bike...only work I really had to do on it...oh yeah and install the stainless steel front lines that also came with the bike. Needs tires soon and front wheel has a dent from a curb I'd say...seller failed to mention that and I was in too much of a rush to pick this thing up for 1900 bucks...plus it was about to rain and I wanted loaded onto my truck before it came.

I was going to mention that, but he was complimenting my bike so I just let it slip. Forgot to mention the CF front fender and the custom Ducati Yellow paint!

I'm on there, hiding.

For some reason I like the 'twins board better.   :dunno_white:

I've been over there looking for parts before, it just doesn't have the same feeling. It feels so big and commercial, unlike the homey feeling you get while on gstwin
