You may want to join up at katriders.com

That's where I got my shock, $25 shipped. I've seen some go for free though, just pay shipping.

The first one:

I'm not positive on this, wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in. But I would say no, I think that upper reservoir would interfere, not to mention the length of it.

The second one:

I know you can use an sv650 shock, but I read this a minute ago. It says you can only use the ones that are yellow and not the white ones.

OK I have a kat shock $25 and shipping ...
I also have a shock that been split, the fluid reservoir been painted black, The spring has been powder coated yellow, the collar and rings been powdercoated black ... that $50.
The sv shocks dont have rebound adjustments. They also need to be drilled cos they are faaaaar too long. You can drill them shorter though.
Cool.

If TANNER doesn't buy the Buddha's shocks, can I call dibs?

Thanks!  :thumb:

I also have GSXR 1100 shock for 75.
I know of old school GSXR 750 that someone has for $100.
PatrickinNC is partially right. GSXR shock is a whole lot better than kat, however in street bikes it can be rather overkill and very hard.
Anyway, I have some and can get more GSXR shocks. Pics ... OK OK please wait ... fine I'll put pics of what I have.
BTW a GS needs a long clevise kat shock unless you have a 89 with an aluminum linkage.
GSXR shocks all will fit they all are long clevise.
Pronator got dibs on anything other than stock kat shock - that's gone. Oh crap, that was a short clevise. I may have unloaded that on a guy that didn't have an 89. Oops ... let me check.
Cool.

Yes,

something from a modern sportbike is great. Especially if you have to fab/drill anyway.

Katana and SV shocks are not much of any improvement other than they have a stronger spring to support the increased heft of these bikes, which feels good on our bikes since they are sprung softly stock, but does not mean they ARE good. You could just buy another stiffer  (for your weight) spring for a GS shock and have the same result.

i will take the shock, i am also going to need some other piece parts you might have, jets and such to modify a set of stock carbs to match the K&N drop in and the V&H full exaust setup i have..
but what the heck lets see some pictures and comparison of the other shock you guys are talking about... :thumb:

Tanner - was that meant for me ... OK I better put pics up then. I had better shocks than I thought ... yea too much crap, too small a garage.
PatrickInNC - Yea the kat genre has the heavier springs by simple virtue of being on a heavier more powerful bike, but they also have rebound damping. That makes for atleast a decent range of adjustments. Now GSXR shocks have 3 adjustments. Maybe that is better, however there are some GSXR's that are good, and some that may be too hard. I dont remember exact years now, but 92 and later 1100's and 91 and later 750's were the kind that has the wider coils and they were significantly harder If I remember.
Anyway pics comming up.
Cool.

Was it the 2005 that eventually went for $54 ($38 + $16 S&H)?

If so, it wasn't me! I was debating it, but then I thought there might be some sort of bidding war once a second bidder jumped in and bumped the price with only a few minutes left.

Sorry, SKIDMAX! I hope you can find another one you like. :thumb:

well i cant justify 75 for my moderate shock upgrade but i do still need jetting equip for a drop in k&n and full v&h exhaust system if you have that avail.   ;)
