Title: Anyone running single pingel petcocks on their bikes?
Post by: Jackstand Johnny on June 11, 2008, 04:31:34 PM
I was reading up on the "racers corner" portion of the gstwins main page, and was wondering if this racing petcock is worth putting on since the stock one seems to be such a big problem with these bikes. Any input?

I don't have one. But I did get a lawnmower fuel valve from Ace Hardware for a fraction of the price - $7. And it works great.

I have one on my race GS... and it's not playing nice...  I have fuel flow problems when I get to about a half tank.  I need to take the tank off, drain it, and check everything over to figure out what it's major malfunction is.

I wonder if these things are more trouble than what theyre worth seeing as how everyone just modifies their stock one.

I wasn't impressed with the one I had.  Mine failed due to a stress fracture at a press fit and started leaking.

Crappy design in my opinion.
