All the conspiricy monkies like to say that the top 1% rule America.  At 0.72%, why am I not wearing a crown?  :icon_rolleyes:

Apparently I am the 'Montgomery Burns' of Angola, however.  Release the hounds!!!  :icon_twisted:

Then you are the true rich one among us.   :thumb:

Getting out of debt is the best thing anyone can do.  Back in 2001-2002 I had been following the Dave Ramsey method and darn near became debt free.  We only had one vehicle payment, a student loan payment, and the mortgage (which I wasn't counting).  Everything else was paid off.  What a great feeling it was to see some light at the end of the debt tunnel.  However, in 2004 We had twins, and it didn't take long to fall back into some bad habits.  Now we are slowly starting to make changes in our spending habits to work on getting back to at least where we were right before the twins were born.  If more people would sit down and keep a record of what they spend each month on , I think they would be as shocked as I was to see how much money is essentially 'wasted'.

There was a time when I was in the Air Force making about $12,000 a year.  Now I make right at $90,000 a year.  The really stupid thing is that there are some months when I  have about as much left in the bank at the end of the month now as I did back then!  There is something terribly sad (and boderline moronic) about that!!   :cookoo:

.56 with me and the wife. Not too bad for white trash scum. You really need to be drilling on the Rockefellers and DuPonts and Morgans and Rothchilds and Shiffs and Kuhn and Loebs and Ford's (Henry is SPINNING IN HIS GRAVE RIGHT NOW) and Carnagies.............
They are like .00000000000000000000011.  And truly "THEY" are the "scum".

I think I'm going to buy a condo next year.  Right after the turn of the year is when the market should be at it's worst and you can get fully furnished (nicely) 2 bed 2 bath ocean front condo between 140-180 right now.  Hopefully I'll find a nice 2/1 ocean front flat around 100, put 20% down and ride some ridiculously inflated mortgage payment until shaZam! stabilizes.

There is a big difference between having money and being in the top 1% that controls over 50% of the wealth in our counrty. Wealth is not the measure of the amount of 4 you have in the bank (for the most part) or if you drive a 200K car or have a 10 milliion home, it is measeured by how much a persion has controlling interest in matrixs and infrustructors like energy, transportation, information systems. From a social work perspective what we are experiencing is the fall of the middle class in the U.S. ! There is no equity in the redistrabution of wealth, the haves are getting more of the pie at the expense of the middle class. Look at what it takes to buy a home, typically it is 2 incomes, the middle class can not transfer their waelth to their children because at some time you will need to reside in a skilled nursing home like the one I worked in, and you have to spend down all of your assets and then go on T-19 "wellfare", but the rich can utilize tax shelters in order to pass thier assets on to their family. Oh ya, if you know any one who has medicare health insurance DON"T LET THE INSURANCE COMPANIES TRICK THEM INTO GETTING MANAGED MEDICARE IT IS VERY BAD INSURANCE FOR MOST PEOPLE. I told my dad who is 58 yrs okld to go and see an estate attorney so that he can make sure that he can do with his assets as he sees fit.  -- JIM :)
