What a great ride. I took off early from work and met my buddy at my parent's house where I was storing my bike. We rode to a friend's place to gather him and his bike, and took off across Lansing for my skills test. After running through the course a few times I felt completely comfortable on it, so I wasn't too stressed. The instructor came and we went through it, I passed without losing a single point. Then we took off and just rode for an hour or so to find food, and with the stress of my test behind me, I was really enjoying the ride. After dinner we set out for another couple hour adventure, eventually making our way onto 496 for my first highway experience. Stopped by the girlfriend's apartment and then headed home for the evening.
It was a great first (real) ride for me; I loved every second of it. The GS did great, and I think it's a perfect fit for me with the dirtbike experience I already possess. I feel very comfortable on the road. We're planning a trip to Lake Michigan this Sunday; I can't wait to get back on the bike!
I'm glad I ordered my progressive front springs; I rode with the stock ones yesterday and was bottoming them out on my emergency stops. Those get installed next weekend.
This is the kinda post I like to see :)
Enjoy !
Yeehaw! :icon_mrgreen:
