Title: Planning a Trip
Post by: Villager on June 13, 2008, 03:50:30 PM
My brother and I are planning to ride around the coast of Britain this summer, a trip likely to be around 1500 miles. It's our first big trip, and I'm fishing for as much advice as I can before we go. Two main areas I'd like your advice/experiences on:

1. Places near to the coast in Britain to visit / road or areas to see

2. Essential kit. WHat should I take?

Here's a "Motorcycle Touring for Beginners" reference that may help:

rain gear

When you live in Britain, you go *everywhere* in rain gear. It's not an optional extra.

Tire plug. It's only a temporary fix.At least to me it is. http://www.alpharubicon.com/bovstuff/tirepluguzi.htm  This is on a truck tire but same thing on an MC tire.

Ooh, that does look handy. The GS is hardly built for luggage so I'll have to be strict when choosing my cargo, but that definitely looks worth carrying.  :thumb:
