my luck has been running up and down with the gs lately.. first that damn bolt came off the rod and screwded up my engine ....i was then able to secure one that week and swap it over.....yesterday on the way home from work the bike starts acting up.. Low power almost like a slipping clutch.. Then it just dies at a light. (good news) it died right in front of a dealership my buddy works at... pushed it over to the parking lot and messed with it there,, Tried turning it over but bike would start...it would however preignite. left it there overnight and picked it up this morning... Once i got it home i took off the stator cover and took the timing ignitor off. turns out the little pin that lines it up when you put it in, along with holding it in place shifted out. This then cause the ingnitor to slowly spin out of sync...
Anybody else heard of or had this happen to them,...????
It's quite common. When you put it back together use loctite on the bolt and make sure the pin is seated all the way in.
