i think that non-shoulder type is for 89-94

the shoulder started in 95-200*

the shoulder -might- be 3/32" but it adds a 1/8" or so to the splines on mine, since the non-shoulder models have a countersink to make sliding onto the splines easier.

mine rattled like heck with a non shoulder cog. i have a 98 gs.

95+ has the shouldered sprocket. Some say you can run the sprocket without the shoulder, some say not.I would think that the sprocket trying to slide back and forth on the splined shaft would wear it out over time.

A shoulder is just a spacer.  You can run a couple of washers if you want, or just buy a shouldered one.  Either way, it will do its job still.
