Title: How do I measure my fork?
Post by: Jackstand Johnny on June 21, 2008, 09:08:14 AM
I'm looking to get a dual headlight kit for my 89. It has aftermarket progressive springs on it and I'm not sure of the size. How do I check this? Thanks in advance!

:dunno_white: I don't understand what springs have to do with headlight. As far as the headlights go makes sure the bracket that mount to the forks are for 37mm forks. :thumb:

As mentioned, springs have nothing to do with the installed height of the headlight bracket.

Sorry thats what I was trying to figure out. I wasnt sure if the headlights in fact mounted to the fork tube or not. It's for sure 37mm though? Theres no way it can change for aftermarket forks?

The Headlights do not mount to the fork tubes, theres 2 brackets which slide over your outer fork tubes to mount the headlights.

With after market fork springs the out side section of your forks(Tubes) does not change, the spring after market or stock rides inside this tube.

What kind of dual headlights are you looking at?  Dominators mount to the stock bracket.   :thumb:

for those brackets to work you will need to clamp them onto the fork tubes and they fit 37mm forks the springs wont change the OD buy clamp'em on and your good to go than you need to wire them of
