Title: Carb problem?
Post by: whitewolf on June 23, 2008, 07:36:34 AM
Ok, here is the problem. I am not sure where to go from here.
The bike will not hold it's idle. ( I can adjusted the idle knob, but it seems to be off the next day.)
The second thing I have noticed, it will die for no reason. I could come to a intersection and it would die or down an off ramp.
I have checked the basics:
air filter and gas filter

I have a lot on my plate at home and work, so I did not search this forum real well for any thing like this problem.

I would be thankful of any help ideas.

Idle not holding cos idle knob wont stay in place ... like it unscrews itself ?? does it have the spring and washer on it ??
Else you may need a clan of carbs, check for vacuum leaks, and possibly a rejet. Valves, filter ??? are those good.
Cool.

Flaky vacuum operated petcock??
Try turning the petcock to the PRIME (PRI) position.
