Title: Help with GS500
Post by: 95_civic_lx on June 23, 2008, 05:33:17 PM
I just picked up a gs500 and it was jetted but never turned...seems like 147 jets its got pod filters and stock exuhast....i also added the 2 #4 washers and turned the carbs 2.75 times out and now it doesnt smell like raw gas shooting off the back of it...only problems is that when i turn it off it leaks from the small spout its not under the carbs...not the bleed screws even if the bike is set of reserve...is my petcock busted or do i just dont know bikes? Thanks for the help

A pic of the leak would help.Your jetting is to rich.Try 40/135,1 washer under the needles and 2.5 turns on the mix.Mix screws will need fine tuning after everything else is running smooth.
