Title: 92 gs for parts...statesville, nc
Post by: 1timegser on June 23, 2008, 09:48:59 PM
hey guys, i know it's my first post here, but i'm selling my gs500 for parts.  i wrecked it...after only having it for two weeks.

i thought that this could be my chance to modify it full bore(since i've seen some nice hopped up gs's here), but that would take time and money. i thought about fixing it back to stock...but honestly, i just don't have the heart for it anymore.  so i've decided just to sell it and get a different bike(the wife has already okay'd it).  don't get me wrong, the gs is a great bike.  it's just not for me.

anyways, about the bike and what it will come with:

     -92 gs500e
     -clean title
-motor still runs great, just changed filter and oil to full synthetic mobile1 before the ride that i wrecked.
-17k+ on the motor, but previous owner said it was rebuilt maybe a year ago by interstate cycle in cornelious, nc
     -dynojet jet kit
     -vance and hines full exhaust
     -k&n air filter
-newer stock air filter(if purchaser cares to have it)
     -clymers manual
     -brand new battery
-newer tires(previous owner put them on)

from looking at it, the only unusable parts would be the front forks, headlight assembly, gauge assembly, handlebar, front fender, clutch cable, left mirror/hand control assembly, and maybe the front rotor.

the frame only has a few scuffs on it.

the tank has some dents, but not leaking.

the seat needs to be rewrapped.

i only put about 130 miles on it before wrecking it.

i would prefer to sell it whole but if there isn't enough interest, i could part it out.  now for the hard part, i don't know what this is worth. i haven't been in the game long enough. i do not know!..maybe $500?  if that's too much, all interested parties can shoot me an offer on here, pm or email and please post saying so.  i know it sounds like ebay but moderaters, if this is a problem, please let me know.

pick-up only, so whoever buys it can see it in person first.  sorry to those who are further out. now the pics:

bump...got some hits, but nothing serious yet.

no one wants this?

if you're worried about my low post counts, search "supranewb" on supramania.com. i've had plenty of transactions without any problems. it's going on craigslist tonight. just thought i'd give you guys first crack at it.

!3uddha - Not parting out ... BTW buy battery at walmart, its gonna cost $15 bucks to ship it and they prolly wont let you ship it and if it tips over and dumps the acid you're SOL, and a new battery is $30. Not worth it.

Dgyver - Thanks D ...

Oh yea, 3 rolls of duct tape ... It'll be as good as new  :thumb: ...
BTW outside in the open it wasn't as tinny and loud as it was inside your barn. Huge echo maybe ... or resonance ... it was almost drowned out by trucks at the truck stop ... .
Nice to have met you to 1timegser. Come by often.

Ironic - axle bent, both legs bent, wheel straight, lower triple straight ... bearings good.
I have it on with diaz's FE for now, I had to fit a straight FE on it to get it off the back of the truck ...
Cool.

Dude you were not kidding, the motor got power ... plenty of it, 17K is not even close to how it feels, under 5K, heck even my 90 waaaay back when in 97-98 didn't make this much power. The chain was really really tight too. But else it is ready to terrorize the streets ... no headlight or gauges yet though.
Cool.
