Title: Is this the right Katana shock for my 97 GS?

I want the one with no grinding, simple replacement.

It will work fine.  It's the one I have on mine.  "Pre-96 Katana" is what mine was listed as.  You will only need the shock, not the linkage attached.

Is there a difference between the years of Katana shock? Like a 99 and a 96? Any difference?
