Looking for stock sized tires, and I'm not having any luck.
Where are you guys finding them? I've tried the search function and didn't have any luck.
My local suzuki dealer had the best prices shipped, and installed. They do it to get people to spring for $50 oil changes and other 'services' at the same time. ;)
Front battleax = $55
Rear battleax = $60
of course, the front never came in for over a month, and they re-imbursed me the wrong amount.
when i told them that the tire cost $55 + tax, not $120 (which I was credited) they said it was too much hassle to fix it through visa.
never heard that one before, but ok.
good luck finding stock sizes anymore. ;)
A few months ago, I ordered Pirelli Sport Demons from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse (MAW). I had no trouble getting the stock sizes:
FRONT 110/70-17
REAR 130/70-17

No luck at suzuki in leage city, they said 110 for a back tire. So I found Motorcycle Discount Tire in pasadena. WOW cool store. $69 for back tire. but they had abunch of other cool stuff and the most helmets I have ever seen.
I've bought online from AMT and Southwest with good service from both. There seems to be a shortage of the OE size 110/70 and 130/70 BT45 right now and they are backordered at both places. Both have the Roadriders, Lasertecs, and Sport Demons in the OE sizes. Also AMT has the Actives too in those sizes.

The new 2008 Ninja 250R uses the same size tires and wheels now as the GS500F and Ninja 500R use and they use the BT45 as OE tires now too. I think this is contributing to the shortage since the 250R is Kawasaki's best selling bike.
The Roadriders are the best deal of the major brands now with the BT45 being hard to get, they are about $130 a set plus shipping at AMT and about the same at my local place.
Tires Unlimited seems to have the 110/70 and 130/70 BT45 now:

Wow, these are good prices compared to UK. :thumb: I've been shopping around and my local bike mechanic reckoned the rear (and front?) wasn't a standard size so would take longer to source one. He replaced my rear 130/70-17 yesterday with a BT45 for just over 70 quid. :o I hope it does the job well.
And I need a front tyre soon too.
Suppose its good news about the Ninja 250 using the same size if it helps increase production and availability longer term.
I just bought Pirelli Sport Demons from American Moto Tire. $228 shipped including two stainless valve stems.
I got the 140 rear but they had 130's in stock too.
Shipping was fast :icon_mrgreen:
::Edited price. $228, not $338 :thumb:
+1 for southwest moto tires. :thumb:
OK.I got my tires at www.ridenow.com.Great service. How ever I have 120-60-17 and 160-60-17 Shinko 005 Advanced tires on my GS.$160 delivered.I have found that ride now has some brands of tires for a lot less than other online retailers. It was hard for me to locate sport tires in stock sizes for under $250 and radials could go much higher. Now that Kawasaki is selling the Ninjette 250 and 500 with the same rubber as GS, we might see lower prices, more brands and type of tires in the GS stock sizes.I hope so any way.
