Title: Oil Leak
Post by: Adam R on September 01, 2003, 10:21:37 AM
I'm seeing oil start to seep out from the lower cooling fins on both the left and right sides of the engine.  Does this seem like a gasket problem, or could it be something else?

How big a deal is oil seepage?  It's not enough to even drip onto the ground, it just wets the lower cooling fins.

(trys to justify his own leaks)

Don't wet fins cool better?

Just go to your local Autopart store and buy some engine stop leak. It's safe and will plug-up old rotten seals. Only use about half a bottle though.

Is this recommended for motorcycles?  Our transmissions use the same oil as the engine.  Just curious.
