I really like the look of these streetfighters with no side fairings, but underneath mine are all sorts of wires and other contraptions. How do you hide these away to reveal the bare frame? Thanks a bunch in advance!
I guess theres as many solutions to such a problem as there is people doing mods...
Could run the wires inside the frame, could make brackets to hold the wires up against the seat and out of view...
Maybe move some of the components up under the tank to clean up the rear?

The little black boxes need to be mounted with the cooling fins pointing up.If not,they will become saturated with heat and die a miserable death.Quick too.
The fined box on the right side of the frame? The fins are pointed straight outward on mine, it's fine as log as its not upside down then? Also, I have no fabrication tools. No welder, cutter, no nothing so I was hoping to find a place to put it all without having to fabricate brackets and such. I'm basically looking for a place to hide all this stuff on a bone stock bike. Thanks though, as what youve shown me is ecactly what I'm talking about and yall have given me a few ideas.

As long as the black box stays like it is or the fins up.You'll have no problems.

Scott thanks for the credit, certainly appreciated however, that rats nest of wiring is purely mocked up it will be much much neater.
CDI and any type of load equalizer for the rear lights or what not will go in the tray I made. The Flasher Relay and the other similarly shaped item will now be mounted as viewed in the picture. The finned metal box(Rectifier?) will be mounted fins out, centered on the back of my relocated battery box. All the wiring to these devices as well as the rest of the loom, will be shortened/lengthened to best be able to hide it in a very neat and tidy manner.
Is there any other good place to mount that fined box besides a custon relocated battery box? again, I don't really have the means to custom fabricate a bunch of stuff. I'm basically going to have to have someone else do the fabrication who has the know-how. All I know how to do is cut/grind and tear things apart. I don't have a welder or any tools to make brackets or anything. Thanks.

Give me some pics of your bike and the general area of where your electrics are and I'll see if I can offer any advice.
The thing is a lot of the Street Fighters on this site have some sort of Custom Rear Sub Frame or Rails that replace the stock ones.
When you remove your stock side panels to expose the stock sub frame your exposing the area where everything can reside peacefully. Without doing custom rails, your going to have to do some Fab work or creative re routing, lengthening or shortening of wiring looms in order to hide and mount these items in other locations than the standard area.

No, what I'm saying is I DONT HAVE THE MEANS TO WORK METAL MYSELF. I'm looking for simpler ideas than "just build a battery box from nothing, relocate it, and mount things to it". I'd like to get as far along as I can with the project before having to go to a fabricator.
Unless you can fabricate, then you really cannot get to far, sorry but it's the truth.
If all your going to be doing is moving one part from location A to Location B, or trying to you're going to get really frustrated and not get to far.
All the electronics are purposely built for the locations they reside at, so if you try moving them you wont have many options unless you create new mounting points or locations. After all if you take the side panels off your pretty wide open without much of anywhere to hide things.

This is what I wanted to know. I know it wasn't a personal attack against me, but my lack of fabrication skill is an obvious shortcoming that erks my nerves when others make more obvious. I DO have an idea though, I want to fabricate(from abs plastic) a new rear inner fender that sits flush with the lines of the subframe. It will make more room for the wires and such on the inside of the frame rather than the outside. It wont take much more than cutting plastic, and drilling new holes for things to go. Then I want buy a rear higger, or make one from the old rear inner fender to keep crud from flying up on the new plastic. What do you guys think?

Damn!I been keeping this under my hat.I got an old inner wheel well from a wrecked GS.I was planning to make a hugger out of it.
Better than the GS inner fender is a fender from a bike that has a 130 or so front wheel. Lots of modern cruisers - You have to trim etc, but they have mounts etc in the right location and they have decent wind resistance.

I think he meant to fit his idea of using a modern cruiser front fender, you'd have to put back on a skinnier tire in the rear than you have mounted.

Im thinking on using the bottom of a rubbermaid tub since I can find any sheet plastic for my rear fender. What do yall think?
Using some standard fender as a base for a hugger - easy, straightforward and always in plain sight...

I'm working on it today. I didn't mean the bottom of a rubbermaid tub, I ment the side. I went to wal-mart and bought a 13 gallon trash can for $12.50, made a template, and hacked up the can with a dremel( great invention). I WILL make this happen with no metal fab work minus a reciprocating saw. I also WILL post pics when I'm done. As for the brake light, turn signals, and license plate bracket...I'm just gonna cut that part of the old rear fender off and stick it right back on until I can figure something better out.
