Title: New Bike
Post by: Villager on July 03, 2008, 06:22:28 PM
Thought you might like to see my new toy. I have acquired a 1976 Yamaha RD125 for little more than peanuts. I'll be "looking after it" until my brother takes his test, and then he can have it.

It's shows 10,000 miles, but there's no paperwork to confirm this. Frankly if it's lasted 32 years then I don't care if that's really 310,000 miles, or it's fifth engine.

Considering its age it's in stunning condition, with a complete respray (a proper job, original colour scheme). Once it's warmed up it runs smoothly and pulls strongly throughout the rev range, topping out at about 80 mph. I could never go back to a smaller engine than my GS has, but this is a lovely little bike.
