So whos down? Where we meetin? Where we goin?
I believe this is the Monterey bay ride where everyone meets at my house in Salinas.
Unless I'm mistaken :cookoo: :dunno_white:
Hi Bob,
Yup, same ride! We'll have a group coming down from the bay area. SIKDMAX, if you're in SF that weekend, you can join our caravan. Otherwise, I guess you'll ride up from SLO directly and meet us in Salinas?
Woo-hoo!
OK, not really interested in a 2 hour ride just to get to the start of the ride. Thanks anyways.
It's worth it! :icon_mrgreen:
I don't know about leading the way...the three of us got a bit, uh, turned around when we rolled into town.
Shouldn't be a problem though. My buddy will likely join us again and he won't make the same mistake twice.
LOL
i'd fill up 3/4 times just to get to montea
how about a ride in SF or the northbay!

ya'll need to move to the east coast where we have the infamous US129
Hi all,
Just thought I'd lay out all the details here since this ride seems to have about three different threads:
Date: Sunday, 27 July
Time: 10am-ish :icon_mrgreen:
Place: Bob's house in Salinas, CA*
Ride: Carmel Valley
There'll be a pre-ride/caravan from Palo Alto, CA:
Kickstands up: 8am-ish :icon_mrgreen:
Place: Starbucks (1745 E Bayshore Rd, East Palo Alto - right off the University Ave exit on 101)
Ride: Palo Alto to Bob's house
* Directions to Bob's:
101 south to Salinas. Go past Northridge mall on left and new automall on right.
Take Laurel Dr exit,( turn right at stop sign.)
Left on Davis Rd. (1st light after exit)
Left on Larkin St. (2nd light after turn on Davis)
Left on Kearny (4th st on left)
Left on Alvarado Dr. (761 Alvarado Dr. Salinas CA. 93907)
Black box trailer in driveway on right (corner house)
My (Bob's) cell # is 831-596-3111 if there is a problem.
You're a natural organizer, Pro! I'll likely be suckin' down the coffee-bean juice by around 7:30ish in Palo Alto!
It looks as though I and another GSTwin'r will be jumping on the wagon train in along 101 in SJ, so I'm working on a good 2nd meeting place that's a quick jump-off and then jump-back-on from 101. Any ideas, Sanjay? You're coming....right????? ;) :icon_mrgreen:
Would have loved to join you all, but I have a wedding to attend in LA. Next time.
Hi All,
Do you have room for one more? It'd be my first group ride. I'd love to meet some fellow local GSer's. I just got done freshening up the paint and have some rather fresh rubber on the bike. I live in SF, so I'd like to join the group coming down from the city. Looking forward to meeting you all.
Later,
Chris
Hey Chris,
Sorry, we're kind of all over the place on this particular ride. The details have been posted here and on this other thread:
http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=41862.80
Since Mr. Bob took a fall and we're likely going to postpone the ride down to Monterey until August. As for this Sunday, there may or may not be a ride a little more local (i.e. SF Bay area rather than Monterey Bay area). Keep an eye out on this and the other thread.
But, we always have room for one more!

Here's (http://bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257825) the ride I'm going to do Sunday. It's very n00b friendly! :icon_mrgreen:
Sweet! I'm gonna do my best...and it's at 10:30am. :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:
I really have no excuse.
And kickstands not up 'til 11am! No 'scuses! :flipoff:

You're right!
I'm taking some friends clubbing in the city the night before so.... :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: But it sounds like plenty of other folks may come out in a post-KSP daze. ;)
I'll be partying Saturday night, too! White Russians on the agenda...a LOT of them..... so no 'scuses! :icon_razz:
Oh yeah? I'll see your White Russians and raise you a few dirty martinis. :icon_mrgreen:
Okay, okay, you got me good!
My buddy and I will be there for sure! :thumb: I'll be the little yellow speck following his K1200S. Hmm, it's rather appropriate actually. When I ride with him, I'm like a little ducking following its mama duck. Mike the Mama Duck. I like it. Not sure that he will, but I like it.
Hmmm....I'll see your Dirty Martinis & White Russians, and I'll raise you a few shots of Patron with margarita chasers! :icon_twisted: Thank the moto gawdesses I don't get hangovers... :icon_lol:
And at the ride, I'll be the one with braids down to there and only 1/2 a front fender still. :flipoff:
Can't wait to meet you and Mike the MaMa Duck!
Yay! See you on Sunday! :thumb:
Anyone else coming? I know scratch is out, but ChrisSF? Kortz? Sanjay? Anyone else?
Nope, I'm out for this one. Just got back from vacation and I'm catching up on work  Have fun!
After all the grief I gave ya', Pro, I'm out for today

Actually, you missed quite an eventful ride. You'll probably read all about it on BARF; however, I was in the unfortunate - but educational - position to witness what happens when deer meets rider. The rider in question is okay though. He was sore but no broken bones and no loss of consciousness. There were no less than three fire truck/vans, one CHP car, and a CHP bike on the scene. :thumb: :thumb: Bike was not road worthy afterward, but only because the front end plastics and lights were trashed. The suspension looked surprisingly straight.
Thankfully, the rest of ride went well.
Oh man....just read about it on BARF tonight....that truly sucks, but I'm glad the rider was ok....sounds as though he's in a world of pain. Glad ya' had a good time....I won't be around next weekend, but I'll be back to my normal rides the weekend after that..hopefully meet ya' then. :flipoff:  :icon_mrgreen:
Someone send me the link.. :( What happened? I apparently can't read.. Nor do I realize anyone in my area has a GS500 and rides it.. /me fires herself..
