We should just build a massive mega-gargantuan debtor's prison in the middle of the Dakotas.

what teh hell does NO not have any shelters?, this seems to be pretty petty, or even trivial :icon_confused:
to long to read it all...NO is f%&ked and Bush and his cronies are just leaving it to die a slow and miserable death
Have you followed census and repopulation data? NOLA's population levels are at 65% of what they were pre-katrina. Have you actually been there and seen residents busting their asses to rebuild?
I suspect that becaase of a lack of resources you may not be seeing NOLA pd cracking down on criminal on criminal crime they're more concerned about keeping the dollars coming into their economy.
I have been there and we will be going again in September for our anniversary. Our dollars can go into their economy :thumb:
Call me mean and insensitive if you must. I have no sympathy for thieves. If you have food on the dash of your car, and I steal it, put me in jail. But, I WON'T steal it. So I don't have to worry about it. If I am in a place where I am needing to steal food to stay alive, I would be seriously rethinking my place in life, and changing what I need to, to fix it.
I also feel no sympathy for the people who are spending all of their time and OUR money rebuilding a city that could be wiped away again, just as easily. Screw that. relocate those people inland and make that city a port for receiving oil that we are removing from the GOM.
We will all be paying for this for a long time to come.
I do have sympathy for the people that lost friends, relatives, pets, memories and heirlooms. I just don;t see why you'd want to put yourself in the same situation again....
As Benjamin Franklin is credited with saying. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."
