do i drill that out to get to my mixture screw?
just got the bike and it seems that the left side is running realy rich but the bike is boggin down like its running lean.
i think its running rich cause the plug seems to be fuel coated but im still toying with it
Thats the cap yep.. Drill her out and adjust away
You have the caps on them, and you want to adjust them so your left can be leaner ... I'd say you got some else wrong with it ... maybe left has high floats or right side is sucking air.
Cool.
Buddha.
ya hopfully i get all the plates and such tomarow and can go out on the road and see whats going on then.
Nice photo! First, since you just go the bike, yank those dirty carbs out and give em a clean. Clogged jets and tubes are the most likely cause of bogging. Open them up, being careful not to break the rubber gaskets, and shoot carb cleaner through all the holes. Check the needle valves and make sure they are moving freely. While you have the carbs out you can remove the caps that gaurd the mixture screws. It doesn't take much; put a few turns of a drywall screw into them and give them a yank. Yours may take a little more yank judging by the corrosion on the nearby parts. If you do use a drill don't push too hard, the cap is thin and it is easy to push right through and damage the thread. After you get them back together, check the float height.
they were cleaned by the previous owner and a good guy but i might still crack them open. kinda wonderin about bad gas too. eatherway it will be a project for a rainy day this week.
ill post pics.
