heres some info about diff. type of handle bars ppl have put on
They look great and are really more agressive and more comfortable (there is a contradiction is there ever was one) and the ignition key etc etc now doesn't have to get fitted into this weird spot above the handle bar and then the key ring will work itself under the bar and you struggle to get it out. None of that BS either. It lowers your torso and head a good 9 inches + over the stock 90+ bar and makes it lower CG and better handling as a result. So, lots of benefits and no disadvantages. OK 1 ... you cant switch to katana grips without having the brake banjo hit the dash. The kat grips are nice and fat and cushiony as opposed to the GS ones. But they are longer too ~1/2 inch.
Cool.

the clip ons need the triple to be with it. they were only done in 89 so part of it is how relatively rare it is. i have 89 triple and bars on my bike and i love it. it is no where near as comfy as stock but they look grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat(my tony the tiger)
The 89 bars lets your wrists be at a natural angle, the newer bats twist them inward ~15 degrees. However the 89 will put more weight on them. Comfort is a relative thing, and may be a function of your age/ailments.
Someone flash some $$ at me ($100 will work) and in a couple weeks I can be persuaded to send you a black triple and posts and bars set. I'll also toss in a dash top plate in black (all the black is powdercoated shiny black) and you have to send me back your stock top plate if you need that black dash plate. For a 04 add $15 (bent handle bars needed - will be made for you from new 1/8th wall steel).
Cool.
