I've kept it in my wallet since I modded my seat.  I used to keep it all in a zip lock taped to the bottom of my seat.

Ziplock bag under the seat. It doesn't seem to move around or anything... I actually carry a copy of my papers on my bike, which is legal in California, and keep the real ones at home, just in case they were to fall out or get lost or whatever...

Laminated and tucked away with the tool kit. :thumb:  My first bike had a nice little document pouch put together with stick-on velcro stuck to the bottom of the seat.  That seemed to work pretty well too!

In my wallet...that way if someone manages to steal the bike, they don't have registration/proof of insurance to go with it...

If you ever get pulled over, they check that stuff against your license, don't they? I've had cops complain about my name not being on the registration when I got pulled over in my parent's car. Even with the same last name they start asking questions... There is a case to be made for denying a bike thief information about you, but if they have your license plate number (and your plate itself for that matter), they can get all that stuff from the DMV anyways...

On most of my bikes, I keep it in the toolkit, although I'm too lazy to laminate it.  Both reg and proof of insurance.  On my FZ6, I keep them in one of the Givi cases.

I have a registration/ insurance wallet put in a zip loc bag then place it under the tool kit. It seems like it won't go anywhere and I always have it on me. Was thinking about the tank pack but I don't always put it on. ESP for short rides. Down here in Fl. if you don't have all your papers you have to take them down to the court house wait all day and pay a five dollar fee for them to "see" it! Or at least that is what happened when I left my wallet at a friends house and didn't have my DL on me.

Lucky us, we don't have to carry it around here. We have a registration label that has to be visible and you can't get the label unless you have paid the insurance etc. We just have to carry our driver's licence.  :)

+1 minus the ziplock bag.  Always wear your gear!

I keep my registration and all important paperwork except the title in my wallet.   just easier if I get pulled over to get it all out of my wallet and not have to dig through 200 places for one piece of paper.

In my tank bag. I have a smaller manta bag that holds my papers, disc lock, etc. So yeah, I end up carting it around like a purse, but it beats having to get under seat if I need the stuff.

Its totally different over here, proof of insurance, valid mot (state inspection i imagine for you), registration of vehicle and drivers license information is all linked together on police computers, they just need some personal details they check on the computer to find your details and give you a 'producers' which is a request to see the documents they require within 5 days at a police station. So techincally you don't need to carry anything around. Although you should have your driving license as thats the document they always ask you to produce no matter what when your stopped so its easier to carry that (looks just like a credit card) in your wallet and just produce it for them. Saves you having to get a producer and drag things out. Also its one of the only convenient forms of ID over here. For buying alchol and all sorts.

My insurance and registration are always in the breast pocket of my leather riding jacket.

I only use one jacket so I always have it on when I ride.
