Title: hesitation/stumbling
Post by: gskim on September 02, 2003, 05:35:08 PM
my bike idles  good, but when I try to give it gas, it hesitates & then revs way high & then takes a while to come back down to normal.  After  RPM's build up to over 4000, it runs great - like normal.  Whatt could cause this?  I'm not a great mechanic or anything, but I can figure out how to fix things if I know what to look for.  Please help!!!  I hate not being able to ride it.

Sounds like you're a little lean at idle. Try opening up the idle fuel screws a little and see if it gets better. If no one has messed up with the screws yet, you need to drill out the brass plug that covers them. That will probably require that you take the carbs out the bike.
See the last picture on my web page (//http//www.angelfire.com/mt2/mikesgs500/rejetting) for the location of the screws.
