Title: Switching Rear from 130 - 140...
Post by: NEWGS500F on July 16, 2008, 05:42:11 PM
Has anyone (recently) swapped from the stock 130 rear to a 140 WITHOUT switching wheels or anything else??

Would be interested to see a before/after pic as I plan on doing this next though, with only hundreds on the clock, this may wait a while til I actually USE the tyre!!!

Also, any recommendations on brand to use for a GS500F.....price - not too worried about.  Not talking about Rossi style cornering but similarly, I do try to get SOME lean on the go.

Cheers for input...

Yes most all 140 will work on a stock wheel.Check the tire seller or manufactures website to be 100% sure.

I've run 110/70, 110/80, 130/70, 130/80, 130/90, 140/70, 140/80, and 150/70 tires on the stock GS wheels.  Need to bend the brake rod a bit for some of the 150/70 tires but all others fit without any changes.
